29th Annual High Risk Emergency Medicine Home Study Program
Designed and taught by emergency physicians with formal legal education and over 100 years of collective risk management experience, High Risk Emergency Medicine is a comprehensive review of the medical legal issues common to the practice of Emergency Medicine.
High Risk Emergency Medicine is the only risk management course to use actual malpractice and EMTALA cases to illustrate the most important and common Emergency Department pitfalls. In this home study course, the most costly and/ or frequent errors causing lawsuits or government investigations in Emergency Medicine are reviewed.
Using actual case analysis and a review of the medical literature, this course identifies the critical components of the history, physical exam and data collection process that are critical to assuring a well supported evaluation, treatment and disposition. Important principles in communication, documentation, medical-legal strategies and EMTALA compliance are discussed to help participants develop an effective Emergency Department Risk Management Program.
Comprehensive Syllabus and Separate Risk Management Desk Reference Provided
The 29th Annual Edition of this course has been revised to include the most recent, relevant literature, malpractice and EMTALA cases. Participants will also receive a comprehensive Risk Management syllabus and annotated bibliography via JumpDrive that features practical management recommendations for reducing risk while providing high quality patient care.
